Mission & Vision
ZOF Africa provides underprivileged youths in Zimbabwe with digital technology education for personal and economic growth.
Our vision is to create a future where technology is a tool for social and economic empowerment, rather than a barrier.
About Us
ZOF Africa is a charity registered in the UK and the USA founded in 2009. We fund educational programmes for youths from underprivileged backgrounds in Zimbabwe, with a focus on digital tech education. Since its founding in 2009, we have provided educational support to over 500 students.
ZOF Africa is run entirely by volunteers, allowing us to keep our expenses very low, and ensuring that donations go directly to supporting the students we serve. We value transparency and will report back on every penny spent.

In 2009, while visiting her family in Zimbabwe, Georgina (founder) was moved by the conditions at Emerald Hill Children’s Home and St Joseph’s House for Boys. With over 100 girls and boys under their care, these homes were struggling to provide adequate resources to nurture the youths’ education.
She wanted to help. Upon returning to New York City, she co-founded ZOF Africa to offer education support to underprivileged youths who are determined to succeed despite the odds stacked against them.

From 2013 to 2020, ZOF Africa primarily supported talented and underprivileged youths (16-24) via scholarships for vocational training at established vocational schools in Zimbabwe.
In 2021, ZOF Africa successfully registered for charitable status in the UK and expanded its team of volunteers and corporate partners.
Throughout the years, ZOF Africa has remained a volunteer-only organisation.

Today, we focus primarily on bringing digital and entrepreneurship skills to high-ambition, low-income youths in Zimbabwe. Our ultimate aim is to "graduate" a new generation of tech entrepreneurs with the tools necessary for the work of tomorrow.
